But he is now pursuing a life-long dream to work in the arts. Since 2002 he has studied jewelry and metal-smithing at the 92nd Street Y with Honey Jeanne Laber, Klaus Buergel, Susan Sloan and Jonathan Wahl. He is a member of the Craftsmen’s Guild of the East End and The East End Arts Council. Maidstone Jewelry was founded in 2006 and specializes in unique collections that feature objects collected from the beaches of the Hamptons, such as quartz beach stones, shells and beach glass. A variety of semiprecious or precious stones are often added. Metal work is in silver, gold and other metals. The emphasis is on unusual presentation and creativity. There is something about these beaches that have attracted the likes of Jackson Pollack, Lee Krasner, Wilhelm de Koonig, Thomas Moran,
Andy Warhol and Stephen Spielberg, to name a few!
